COPD is most often noticed when someone falls asleep at night. In the form of paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea, COPD can cause frequent bouts of no breathing that can be quite damaging to the body. There are treatments to correct for this issue and if you notice that you wake frequently at night due to a lack of proper breathing then you should report this with your doctor.
