11) Corneal Abrasion
Symptoms: Corneal abrasion is the medical term for a scratch on the surface of the eye, the cornea, and can cause eye twitching.
Possible Causes: Scratches to the surface of the eye can happen in a multitude of ways – a poke in the eye, dirt or dust in the eye, ingrown eyelashes, etc.
Solutions: The first step is to bathe the eyes and make sure that whatever was causing the scratching is gone. Try dissolving a little honey in warm water to bathe the eyes, honey has natural antibacterial and healing properties. Thereafter, eye drops will help heal the scratch. An eye patch will prevent blinking and subsequent irritation of the scratch.
