The first thing you may think of when you hear the term dementia is memory loss. Memory loss is highly common and is actually an important sign to look out for. Dementia can affect individuals early in life and it is common in older adults so when you notice the person having problems finding words, remembering simple things like names, or even forgetting to eat a meal, this could be a definite sign that dementia nears or is here. Consider talking with your doctor if you notice this behavior and be sure to document any specific examples when memory loss occurs.
