10. Drug Abuse
Why It Happens: The use of drugs, especially those that are snorted, like cocaine, heroin, ecstasy and meth, can lead to damage of the nasal membranes and result in nosebleeds.
Additional Info: In addition to damaging the nasal membranes, drug use can cause hypertension, dehydration and other problems that may increase the risk of nosebleeds.
What To Do: Nosebleeds are a relatively minor consequence of drug use, but a very visual one. Stop and think about all the damage you’re doing to your body that you can’t see. Maybe it’s time to get help and quit the habit.
