16 Causes of a Nosebleed

8. Objects In The Nose

Why It Happens: This mostly happens when smaller children push something into their nose. This can damage the delicate nasal membranes and lead to a nosebleed.
Additional Info: Pay close attention to directions on the packaging of children’s toys and games to avoid giving toys with small parts to young kids. Similarly, be vigilant outdoors and prevent small children from picking up objects such as seeds that can be inserted into their noses.
What To Do: Stay calm so as not to alarm the child. Encourage the child to close the nostril which hasn’t got the object in it and attempt to blow the object out. If this fails, consult your medical professional.
