17. Mental Health Issues.
Let’s face it, obesity can cause an influx of health issues, but many obese individuals tend to have depression and other mental health issues. While the link is not quite pinpointed, it is theorized that obesity can cause social issues with the obese individual to the point that they may avoid certain social situations and even have issues making friends. Obese individuals need to seek help if there are any mental health issues, especially depression, as this can remain for the duration of life. Consider seeking a qualified healthcare provider or counselor if you suspect that you or someone you know is depressed due to obesity.
