It seems like an odd symptom, but it happens. When you don’t drink enough water, your digestive system can’t work properly, resulting in constipation. Specifically, this occurs because water is required in order for your digestive system to be lubricated. This allows the gut to move food stuff through and ultimately, for it to be removed from the body as excrement.
When you’re dehydrated, the colon uses up all the water that the intestines require in the next step of digestion, meaning you’ll struggle being able to go to the bathroom when you need to.
5. Heart burn
Suffer from heartburn or indigestion regularly? It could be dehydration. When you don’t drink enough water, the quantity of mucus in the stomach decreases. This results in the stomach acid that breaks down your food moving further up your insides – much further than it should do.
This burns the inside of your throat and elsewhere, causing pain that is referred to as indigestion and heartburn.
